“We invited Brian to deliver an introduction to Motivational Interviewing to students of the TCD MSc in Addiction Recovery. Brian’s experience and passion for this approach was clearly evident and he covered a vast amount of material in 1 day of training.

The interactive lectures, case-studies and role play exercises were very engaging and equipped the students with practical skills that can be easily incorporated into work practices.

The preparatory and post course resources provided by Brian were also very helpful in supplementing the course learning. Student feedback was incredibly positive.

We would highly recommend Brian to anyone wishing to undertake Motivational Interviewing training.”

“We invited Brian to deliver an Introductory level course on Motivational Interviewing to our clinicians online over the course of four weeks. Having personally attended a number of course facilitated by Brian in the past I had high expectations and was not disappointed.  Brian is a highly experienced and professional MI practitioner and facilitator. He took the time prior to delivering the course to understand our work, enabling him to tailor the examples used to ensure their relevance to our specific audience.

The training was clear, comprehensive, engaging and very enjoyable for participants. Brian’s knowledge and experience shone through the rich examples he used to demonstrate concepts. Strong interactive and experiential elements of the course really facilitated learning and reflective practice.

Participants overwhelmingly rated the quality of teaching and delivery as well as the opportunities for active participation in the training to be excellent. They felt that the content and skills taught were extremely relevant to their brief intervention work with young people.

A significant amount of high-quality additional materials and resources were provided to participants throughout the four weeks which kept them engaged between sessions. Participants were very motivated to start integrating MI into their work as soon as they had started this course, and we are already getting to experience the benefits of this evidence informed approach through our work with young people thanks to Brian’s training.

I would highly recommend Brian as an MI facilitator to other organisations looking for high quality interactive MI training.”

“Brian is a key part of the tutoring team at The Greenane Centre delivering the motivational interviewing module on our Diploma in  Integrative Adolescent Psychotherapy. There is no doubt Brian has such a passion and belief in this model which is so very evident in how he delivers the content. His style of facilitation is extremely engaging with a fine balance between theory and the practical application of same, he held the group safely, challenged when appropriate in order to expand participants knowledge.

Brian’s ability to impart the spirit of MI is commendable, somewhat contagious and extremely motivating! All materials were sent to participants  in a timely manner,  the training manual provided  and additional resources were relevant, accessible and easy to understand a fine accompaniment to the training, which really helped to consolidate participants learning. I am very much aware of and appreciative the amount of work and time Brian put into the training delivered and course materials. I look forward to our continued working relationship and spreading the spirit of MI.”

“I just wanted to say how much I appreciated being in your course these past couple of weeks. The content of the lessons were highly engaging, they were very well paced and planned and involved many opportunities for us to learn from each other.

You created a very comfortable space, gently corrected us when we were a bit off target and infused some humour along the way. You cultivated a great sense of community and a fantastic learning atmosphere. Can’t wait to continue learning more about MI and pursue more levels of training! Thank you so much.”

“Brian has delivered two MI courses via Zoom that we provided for workers in local community groups. The feedback from those who took part has been overwhelmingly positive.

The structure of the training, materials provided and pacing were all excellent and it is clear that a lot of thought and preparation went into planning to create such an engaging and stimulating online course.

Participants learned a lot and also really enjoyed the training. It is testament to Brian’s facilitation skills that he managed to create such a great group dynamic online. The training was truly participative, with plenty of small group exercises and the chance for discussion and reflection. Brian was very skilful in making the training relevant for a diverse group of participants with different experiences and needs.

We have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Brian as an inspirational and gifted Motivational Interviewing trainer.”

“I just wanted to thank you for your superb delivery and engaging methods over our zoom course in the last three weeks. It cannot be easy trying to gauge the level of concentration and interest through a screen. Also with the numbers involved, I really like the way that you paced the topics and drew people in through the follow up discussions.

You are by far the most engaging online host I have encountered throughout this Covid period. It is clear that you have put a huge amount of thought and preparation work into each session and it shows. Thanks again for creating such a pleasant learning forum for this stage of our MI journey in the current climate.”

“The group supervision is an excellent resource for the staff to process and work through challenging client issues in a confidential and safe environment. There is also room for emotional issues arising between the team to be aired and distilled. Though the staff find the group challenging at times, the feedback I receive is that it is worthwhile and a long term investment.”
